The publication accompanies an eponymous exhibition through which the Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague presents the glass collection of the construction entrepreneur, benefactor, and museum co-founder Vojtěch Lanna (1836–1909). His interest in the museum was fuelled by his passion for collecting and his desire to advance the cultural and economic conditions of his country. He donated his famed and extraordinarily large collection of mostly Renaissance and Baroque glass to the museum in 1906. Its importance and historical value is evidenced by a selection of roughly 80 examples that present these unique relics of Venetian and Bohemian glassmaking art from the 16th to 18th century.
This catalogue has been published by the Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague to accompany an exhibition of the same name held at the Museum from 15 June to 30 October 2022 in conjunction with the 26th ICOM General Conference Prague 2022.
